A national insurance provider headquartered in the North East has been shortlisted for a number of coveted awards following a year of continued growth.

Collingwood Insurance, which employs 192 people at its North Tyneside base, has been nominated for three Insurance Choice Awards and four North-East Contact Centre Awards.

The annual Insurance Choice Awards are attended and supported by some of the biggest names in insurance and will this year be held at London’s historic Globe Theatre on November 9.

Hosted by TV’s Lucy Porter, the glittering black-tie event will see Collingwood compete for the ‘Best Motor Insurance Provider’, ‘Customer Service Champion’ and ‘Treating Customers Fairly Champion’ awards.

Helen Shields, contact centre and operations director at Collingwood, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for these prestigious awards.

“It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team, who work tirelessly to provide our customers with the best insurance solutions and service.

“It is also a reflection of how far we’ve come over the past 12 months. As well as launching our new-look brand, we’ve continued to maintain the fantastic levels of customer service we have become renowned for and this is reflected in these latest successes.

“I can’t wait to be able to celebrate this with the team in London. It will be even better if we come home with an award.”

Collingwood has also been shortlisted for four awards at this year’s North-East Contact Centre Awards (NECCA 2023), including ‘Sales Star’, ‘Contact Centre of the Year under 250 seats’, ‘Unsung Hero’ and ‘Contact Centre Industry Newcomer’.

“As a company which has been firmly rooted in the North East for over 20 years, we are thrilled to have been shortlisted in four categories at this year’s NECCA awards,” she added.

“As a region, we are fortunate to be home to some of the UK’s biggest and most innovative contact centre businesses, so it’s fantastic to even be shortlisted for one award, let alone four.”

The awards, which recognise the efforts of its 63 contact centre staff, will top off what has been a stellar year for the company, having been named Best Car Insurance Provider at The Insurance Choice Awards 2022 and more recently being awarded the Advanced Award Good Work Pledge.
