Northern specialist property firm, Bradley Hall, has supported Sunderland based law firm, Mortons Law, in their recent move to new premises within The Yard, located in Keel Square.

Previously Gilbridge Police Station, The Yard is now a collection of fully-serviced office spaces, with a gym, parking and meeting spaces for tenants. The building, which is owned by Northern property investment group, The Hanro Group, boasts tenants including The Ambassador Theatre Group and Sunderland BID as well as fitness company The Cell.

Part of the Keel Square redevelopment, the Riverside area of Sunderland has undergone a significant modernisation and neighbouring properties such as Holiday Inn Sunderland and Keel Tavern have boosted jobs and the local economy.

Mortons Law, which has offices in Seaham and Durham, have been a familiar presence in Sunderland since the late 19th century. Offering a range of services including Family Law (both public and private), Conveyancing (residential and commercial) and Private Client (Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney, etc.), the firm has established itself as a key business in Sunderland and County Durham.

Angela Ashcroft, Solicitor Director at Mortons commented on their move to new premises: “After almost 25 years in our office in High Street West, we sought more contemporary surroundings for our head office and Bradley Hall were able to assist.  We are committed to providing legal services in Sunderland, for the people of Sunderland and the surrounding areas, and it is exciting to now be located in the middle of the City’s regeneration area and close to all amenities and transport links.  Our office space is now bright and modern, and we look forward to welcoming clients, old and new.  We are excited to see what the future holds for Mortons Law. “

Full-service property firm, Bradley Hall, has worked alongside Hanro since the redevelopment of The Yard began and has facilitated the leases of commercial spaces on the site since its completion in 2023. Their most recent lease to Mortons Law has afforded the law firm a brand-new head office. The office space, which is almost 4,000 square feet, will house key departments for the company, which employs over 45 members of staff across their sites.

Helen Wall, director of Bradley Hall Sunderland commented on the transaction: “We were proud to represent and advise Hanro in their most recent leasing at The Yard. As a company, Bradley Hall is pleased to be able to support another business in moving to Keel Square, which is quickly becoming a hub of business and leisure facilities for the people of Sunderland and the wider region.”
