Luxury hotel chain secures prime city centre spot
Northern property specialist Bradley Hall has played a key role in helping deliver a new luxury hotel on Newcastle’s Quayside.

Northern property specialist Bradley Hall has played a key role in helping deliver a new luxury hotel on Newcastle’s Quayside.

The Dakota Hotel will redevelop the vacant St Ann’s Wharf building on the riverside, which has been empty since 2022.

The development will create 150 new jobs, offering apprenticeships, internships and graduate training programmes, as well as significantly boosting the region’s hospitality sector.

The new hotel will have up to 118 rooms, plus a bar and restaurant on the ground floor. An extension will also be built on the ground floor to create a new entrance and lobby area.

Bradley Hall acquired the building on behalf of Dakota, which also has hotels in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Motherwell, Leeds and Manchester.

Neil Hart, Chief Executive of Bradley Hall, said: “We’re delighted to have been able to work with Dakota to acquire this site on their behalf and to have played a part in bringing what I’m sure will be a fantastic addition to Newcastle’s Quayside.

“This is a building that has stood empty for a significant amount of time and is set to be transformed into a stunning new venue, it’s really pleasing to be playing a part in its regeneration.

“The project will bring jobs and opportunities to the area, as well as boosting the evening economy. At Bradley Hall we’re proud to of the work we do in facilitating investment in the north and this deal is indicative of that.”

The work on the building has been given the green light after the plans for the site were unanimously approved by Newcastle City Council’s planning committee earlier this month.
