Award-winning coastal spa resort, Seaham Hall, proudly opens the doors to Harvey’s Bar – a brand-new speakeasy bar located within the five-star hotel.
Reimagined through the lens of Seaham Hall’s rich and spirited history, Harvey’s Bar is a modern speakeasy with a coastal twist, offering a stylish space for hotel residents, Serenity Spa guests and local visitors to relax and enjoy a selection of exquisite hand-crafted cocktails and elevated serves, as well as premium light bites and large plates.
The destination bar pays homage to defining moments in its heritage, including Lord Byron’s nuptials in 1815, and local legend, Alex Harvey’s transformation of Seaham Hall’s cellars into a secret whiskey route during the Prohibition era. Drawing inspiration from the hotel’s legacy, Harvey’s Bar seamlessly blends the romance of Byron’s era with the intrigue of the speakeasy age.
Open seven days a week, guests can enjoy a variety of beautifully crafted cocktails and signature serves inspired by Seaham Hall’s storied past, including the ‘Illegal’ Margarita, ‘Barrel Aged Negroni’ and ‘Bees’ Knees Royale’, alongside twists on much-loved classics including the ‘Cosmopolitan Daisy’ and ‘Papa Doble Hemingway Daiquiri’.
Complementing the drinks menu is a carefully curated food menu, featuring everything from premium snacks and small plates to main courses, desserts and cheeses. Menu highlights include a variety of house made filled focaccia’s, including Prosciutto di Parma with basil pesto, rocket and mozzarella, herb roasted chicken paired with roasted garlic mayonnaise, pickles, baby gem lettuce and parmesan, and honey and clove house baked ham and pease pudding.
Also available are a selection of larger plates, including handmade pasta with tomato sauce, olives and Sicilian capers, roasted cod fillet with salsa verde and lemon, and angus steak and bone marrow burger served with Swiss cheese, pickles and koffman fries. Guests can also enjoy cream tea between 12-3pm daily.
