New County Durham homes bring church hall upgrade
Award-winning Miller Homes is marking the launch of a prestigious new housing development with the upgrade of a vital community facility.

Award-winning Miller Homes is marking the launch of a prestigious new housing development with the upgrade of a vital community facility.

The five-star housebuilder has invested over £9,000 in the refurbishment of St Luke’s Church Hall, which overlooks the Deerness Rise site, near Ushaw Moor in County Durham.

The church hall, which is utilised by a variety of community groups, needed some vital upgrades, so Miller Homes has replaced the kitchen, toilet, improved the heating system, laid new flooring and upgraded the front door of the building before decorating it throughout.

The housebuilder has set up its initial sales office in St Luke’s Hall until a permanent on-site sales office is complete

A pre-launch event in September gave house-hunters the opportunity to get their first look at the new properties and the full site is set to go live on October 3rd.

The 21-acre development, just a few miles from Durham City, will create 158 new three, four and five-bedroom homes in Deerness Valley.

With strong demand for quality new homes in the Durham area, buyers are encouraged to book appointments with the Miller Homes team to discuss the development, guide prices and plots being released.

Lauren Angus, Sales Director of Miller Homes North East, said: “We are expecting a great deal of interest in Deerness Rise, which sits in a beautiful rural location on the outskirts of Durham City.

“It’s brilliant to be able to bring to market great homes in a great location at a great price, and Miller Homes takes pride in being a good neighbour, so it is also fantastic that we are able to help refurbish St Luke’s Church Hall, which initially benefits us with a superb location for our first office, but will benefit the users and the surrounding community for years to come.”

The development is named for its location in Deerness Valley, overlooking the River Deerness. With direct access to the surrounding countryside and Durham City just a short drive away, it is expected to appeal to a wide range of buyers looking for a combination of rural surroundings and easy access to the city.

Miller Homes has also committed to investing in the local community, funding refurbishments in St Luke’s Church Hall, which will double as a site office while the first phase of the development is under construction.

The housebuilder is replacing the kitchen and toilet facilities, improving the heating system, laying new flooring and upgrading the front door before decorating the building throughout.

Lauren added: “Deerness Rise is more than a new housing development. . We are creating a new community in a beautiful location. The homes will make the most of this picturesque setting, with a range of house types to suit different lifestyles and fantastic views across the Deerness Valley.”

Deerness Rise is the latest in a growing portfolio of developments being delivered by Miller Homes across the North East, with sites currently underway in Seaham, South Shields, Durham and Sunderland and further developments planned.

Potential buyers can register their interest now and book an appointment with the Miller Homes team to find out more about guide prices, available plots and launch incentives.
