As the seasons change, Three’s a Crowd in Harrogate is welcoming autumn with a brand-new menu, bringing together comforting British classics, seasonal ingredients and creative new dishes designed for the colder months ahead.

The Harrogate gastropub has unveiled its latest menu, with hearty flavours taking centre stage alongside lighter and more unexpected combinations. From slow-cooked meats and rich sauces to seasonal vegetables and indulgent sides, the new dishes offer something for everything from a relaxed lunch to an autumn evening meal.

Among the new additions is game pie with crushed peas, aged pancetta and port jus, with all meat sourced from Yorkshire farms, supplied by Skyes House Farm, bringing a classic British favourite firmly into the autumn season. Outdoor-reared pork chop with white bean and sage, roast tomato and mustard jus offer another hearty option, while braised oxtail with horseradish mash and confit shallot delivers the rich, slow-cooked flavours synonymous with the colder months.

For seafood lovers, the menu includes pan-roasted hake with roast baby potatoes, caper beurre noisette and samphire, alongside the ever-popular Three’s a Crowd fish and chips, served with minted peas, tartare sauce and charred lemon. Guests can also add a classic chip shop curry sauce or opt for a touch of indulgence with Espelette, parmesan and truffle fries.

Vegetarian guests are equally catered for, with roast celeriac with caramelised shallot and walnut, hispi cabbage and pickled pear, while a roast Mediterranean vegetable tart with smoked aubergine, fennel and caraway and basil oil brings plenty of flavour to the menu.

The smaller plates offer plenty of choice for those looking to share, including braised ox cheek with shallot marmalade, mash and crispy shallots, wood pigeon breast with parsnip purée, pickled blackberry and parsnip crisp, and prawn cocktail croquettes with Marie Rose, celery and Bloody Mary. The menu also features Togarashi squid with lime and coriander, kohlrabi and sesame for a lighter, punchier option.

Mathew Casey, head chef at Three’s a Crowd, said: “Autumn is a great time of year to cook because you can really lean into those deeper, more comforting flavours. We wanted this menu to feel familiar and approachable, but with plenty of detail and a few surprises throughout.

“There are some proper autumnal dishes on there, from the game pie and braised oxtail to the pork chop, but we’ve also got lighter dishes and some more playful combinations. It’s about creating food that people want to come back to throughout the season, whether they’re joining us for a quick lunch, dinner with friends or a relaxed weekend meal.”

The launch of the autumn menu also coincides with Three’s a Crowd ongoing commitment to supporting its local community, with the Harrogate restaurant and sister site CrowdedHouse in Leeds joining forces to raise essential funds for Save the Children.

From 2 September 2026, a discretionary £1 donation will be added to every bill at both restaurants, giving diners the opportunity to contribute to Save the Children’s work while enjoying a meal.

John Quinlan, owner of Three’s a Crowd in Harrogate and CrowdedHouse in Leeds, said: “We feel so passionately about supporting Save the Children. It’s a real privilege to be working closely with such an incredible charity, and we’re looking forward to launching our ongoing £1 bill campaign alongside a series of fundraising events over the next 12 months. We hope these initiatives will help raise vital funds and make a real difference to children and families who need it most.”

Ash Hiden, fundraising manager at Save the Children, said: “We’re really grateful to Three’s a Crowd & CrowdedHouse for their support. From providing new parents in the UK with essential items through the Baby Bank Alliance to providing emergency assistance right now for children and their families affected by the recent flash floods in Nepal, Save the Children’s work is only possible thanks to help like this. Living in Yorkshire, it’s amazing to work with local businesses who share our mission to make sure that every child everywhere has the right to the future they deserve.”
