A fast growing North East warehouse solutions company – which provides support for some of the biggest names on the high street – is continuing with its rapid growth with the acquisition of a site at Teesside International Airport.

Jaymac Solutions has taken over a 1.8 acre space at the airport and will be using it to provide warehousing, packaging and fulfilment solutions for the air freight which is set to land at Teesside, following the recent announcement of a multi-million pound deal with European Cargo.

This will be Jaymac Solutions’ sixth site in the North East, which includes a major hub at Faverdale in Darlington where the company services around 900 Aldi stores nationwide.

The airport hub will see the company deal with the initial five flights a week which will bring in around 375 tonnes of freight.

“We are absolutely delighted to play an integral role in the expanding commercial and cargo operations at Teesside Airport,” said Wes Thompson, Chief Executive of Jaymac Solutions.

“Our range of services aligns perfectly with the requirements of the freight business and we hope will help turn a further spotlight on Teesside and what it can offer.

“We hope our investment confirms our commitment to the North East as a whole and highlights our ambition to continue to create opportunities and growth in the region.”

Victoria Ashby, Head of Property and Development at Teesside International Airport, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jaymac Solutions’ investment into Teesside International Airport.

“This acquisition further strengthens Teesside’s reputation as a growing UK centre for logistics, warehousing and distribution, building on the strong momentum we have created across our cargo and commercial operations.

“Jaymac’s expansion to Teesside Airport reflects the confidence businesses have in the opportunities here – from our strategic location and Freeport status to the collaborative partnerships we foster.

“Their presence will help drive further job creation, attract new investment, and reinforce the airport’s role as a key economic gateway for the region.”

Along with the new site at the airport and in Darlington, Jaymac Solutions has a direct packaging facility at Gateshead’s Team Valley and a 30,000 sq ft pallet recycling operation, a warehouse in Washington which manufactures pallets along with offices and showrooms at Newburn in Newcastle.

Future plans include the launch of new brand-empowerment business which will provide a one-stop shop for a range of customers nationwide.

Throughout the acquisition, Jaymac worked closely with the airport’s commercial team, reflecting a shared commitment to regional investment, innovation, and sustainable growth.
