Leading mental health charity Mind has 160 shops embedded in communities across England and Wales and has found a new home in Jesmond. The landlord, Watermark Investments Ltd, was represented by full-service property experts, Bradley Hall.

Mind offers support to the one in four people who experience a mental health problem every year. The charity works across  England and Wales with funds going to their vital work such as the Mind Infoline, information and advice services, and the campaigning Mind does to fight for better mental health for everyone.

Mind has added to their North East repertoire of shops through the letting of Asprey House in Jesmond. The ground floor retail space was let to Mind by Bradley Hall’s commercial team, who acted on behalf of the landlord.

Asprey House, located on St George’s Terrace, offers the charity a prominent corner location in the popular area of Jesmond.

Emily Morris, Head of Property at Mind said: “We are thrilled to be opening a new shop in Jesmond and are so grateful to Bradley Hall for their pragmatic approach throughout this process.

“Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we are able to continue opening new shops within local communities. But their support is more important than ever, as the ongoing cost of living crisis means we can expect to see a rise in mental health problems and increased demand for mental health services. There are very easy ways that everybody can get involved such as donating quality items, volunteering in the shop, or simply shopping at the store. We hope the local community will visit the new shop when it opens and support Mind to help make sure we can be there for the people who need us.”

Richard Rafique, Managing Director for Commercial at Bradley Hall said: “We are delighted Mind has been able to add a new shop premises to their expanding collection of shops across England and Wales.

“Asprey House will offer the charity a great deal of space and an abundance of footfall due to its popular Jesmond location. This will support the charity in selling high-quality items donated by the community, to help generate vital funds to support those who need it most.

“Mind offer a range of services both locally and nationally to those who are experiencing mental health problems.  We are thrilled to have been able to help them find their ideal space in the North East.”
