As the Northumberland market town prepares for its first Restaurant Week in March, we take a look at the best restaurants and bars taking part, and the deals they will have on offer for diners.

From the 20th-26th March, over 20 restaurants will be partaking in the week of discounted lunches and dinners, which aims to boost the local economy during the quieter months of the year.

North East chain Barluga will be offering a set menu with 2 courses for £15 and 3 for £20. Based in Sanderson Arcade since 2011, the gastropub is consistently popular with locals and its unique interior adds to the experience.

Morpeth staple Ephesus, which serves up authentic Turkish cuisine, will be hosting a ‘dine in for £10’ deal for all Restaurant Week guests. Their vast menu, which includes cold and hot mezze, barbecue and kebabs, fish and meat, will be well-received by the residents of Morpeth during restaurant week.

Pleased To Meet You, which has a locations in Morpeth, Newcastle and Tynemouth, is offering 2 courses for £10 or 3 for £20. The ornate bar and brasserie use local ingredients and suppliers to perfect their seasonal menus. As a successful North East chain, Pleased To Meet You is bound to be popular, and booking is recommended.

Morpeth favourite, The Sun Inn, which sits just outside the town centre, will be offering walk-ins and bookings for their 2 courses for £15 deal. This charming pub is popular with Morpeth residents, namely for its fresh pub food and vast selection of Real Ales. Boasting a beer garden and cosy seats by the fire, The Sun Inn is ideal for a spring evening out.

The Townhouse, the charismatic 3 storey restaurant on the river, is providing a three course lunch menu for £13.95, which will be available at lunch and early dinner dining times. From local gin cured salmon and semolina crusted squid on the starters list to wild mushroom suet pudding as a delicious main course, this offering is already proving popular, with limited availability left.

Created by More in Morpeth, which promotes businesses, events and news in the historic market town, the event is set to bring high footfall into the town centre. The event is creating a buzz in the town, with many locals already booking into their favourite food spots.
