A leading North East law firm has welcomed two new solicitors as demand continues to drive growth across the business.
Newcastle-based Mincoffs Solicitors has appointed Charlotte Smyth to its growing corporate department, while the private client offering at the firm has expanded with the addition of Georgia Meyer to the family team.
Originally from Northern Ireland, Charlotte trained and qualified at a North East firm, before moving to the corporate team at a national practice to gain further experience in corporate finance, private equity and investments.
During her time there, Charlotte gained experience working on multi-million pound transactions, including in the health and tech sectors, and worked on a range of complex cases with cross border elements.
Georgia trained in the family team at a Newcastle-based, full service firm and joined a large, national law firm upon qualification.
With experience in a range of family law matters, Georgia has particular interest in assisting clients with divorce and financial settlements. She has developed substantial experience in cases of varying complexity, including those involving high‑net‑worth individuals and intricate financial issues.
Charlotte said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Mincoffs’ corporate team as they have an exceptional reputation in the North East and beyond. Their impressive client base is a testament to the quality and calibre of the team’s work.
“From my first interview, I knew that Mincoffs felt like a great fit for me culturally and since joining everyone has been so friendly and welcoming.
“I’m looking forward to further developing my skills and supporting the ongoing success of the corporate team and the firm as a whole.”
Georgia, who is also chair of the North East’s Junior Law Division, said: “Mincoffs has a great reputation for its family law expertise, so I was delighted when the opportunity arose to join such a highly regarded team.
“I was also drawn to the firm’s culture and its strong standing within the North East legal community.
“Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, and I’m very much looking forward to working closely with the team, the wider firm, and getting involved.”
Further recruitment is planned for the coming months as Mincoffs continues to grow, and senior partner and head of corporate, Paul Hughes, is delighted to welcome Charlotte and Georgia to the firm.
“Mincoffs has had an excellent year and we are in a position to expand a number of our teams as we look to the future of these departments,” he said.
“Charlotte and Georgia bring a variety of experience to Mincoffs which will be a fantastic asset for both our business and private client offering.
“I wish them the best of luck in their new roles and I am sure they will be an excellent addition to the Mincoffs team.”
