If you are part of a charity, not-for-profit organisation, community group or school don’t miss out on the chance to receive transformative funds.

The Teesside Charity’s Golden Giveaway is back for 2023– with a massive £25,000 waiting to be divided between 20 worthy Teesside causes.

The Teesside Charity’s key function is to financially support community groups and charities based within Teesside that promote social wellbeing, and provide support to those who find themselves at a disadvantage in the society they live in. These include but are not exclusively the homeless, those recovering from an addiction, the long-term unemployed, those living in poverty or living with a disability and employment schemes.

The Golden Giveaway is open to projects and schemes in areas which fall within a postcode preceded by “TS”. To check your eligibility to apply, please view the Teesside Charity – Grant Making Policy.

Lee Bramley, chair of trustees at The Teesside Charity, said: “We urge people to apply and spread the word to any charities, not-for-profit organisations, community groups or schools close to their heart. This giveaway is a great opportunity for groups to access much needed funding that can help change the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in our region.

“Our annual initiative allows us to make contributions to a variety of good causes and incentives and we have seen significant change as a result of projects delivered in previous years. It’s a short application process and successful applicants will be awarded the funds in June.”

The Golden Giveaway applications are currently open and will close Sunday 7 May. Once applications have closed a panel of charity Patrons will whittle down the entries to select 20 worthy groups from across the region, each receiving at least £500 with the potential for one organisation to win up to £5,000.

Each of the 20 good causes will be featured on the charity’s website, and the public will vote for the organisation they believe most deserves the largest sum of money. The organisation with the most votes will receive a fantastic £5,000. Those voted in second place will be given £2,500, third will receive £2,000 and fourth place receives £1,750 while the remainder will walk away with either £1,500, £1,000, £750 or £500.

The public vote will open on Friday 12 May and remain open until Monday 29 May.

The money will be handed over to representatives of the winning organisations at the home of Middlesbrough Football Club – the Riverside Stadium – in June 2023.
