The Tempus hotel, bar and restaurant, Northumberland’s most stylish hang-out, just minutes’ drive from the A1, has unveiled even more reasons for guests, locals and tourists alike to visit this Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
Topping the list of temptations on offer, The Orangery restaurant, situated within the boutique hotel, will be dishing up an all-new menu, expertly crafted by Head Chef Cheryl Radwell and team to showcase the finest, locally sourced produce.
From succulent Pan-Seared Lamb Loin and Beef & Bone Marrow Pie to Pan-Roasted Sea Trout and Wild Garlic Gnocchi, not forgetting The Tempus Grill with its speciality cuts and sauces, there’s something for every taste.
There are also helpful pairing notes, recommending the ideal wine to complement the different dishes, along with new desserts and local artisan cheeses for the perfect finish.
Alongside the new menu, diners can also look forward to signature specials celebrating the best in-season ingredients, plus classic Sunday lunches with premium meats, crispy roast potatoes and fluffy Yorkshire puddings all featuring.
Director of Sales at The Doxford Group, and board member of Visit Northumberland, Elain Meenaghan said: ‘The new menu is the culmination of months of painstaking work by Head Chef Cheryl Radwell and team to source, select and serve the very best of the region’s produce.
‘Whether you’re celebrating Easter or simply looking forward to the first bank holiday of the year, the new menu is the perfect way to mark the occasion, with the option to enjoy a drink before or after your meal in our welcoming ‘snug’ or stylish bar.’
The bank holiday weekend will also see the much-awaited return of The Tipi at The Tempus, which re-opens for the 2026 spring/summer season. Situated on the hotel grounds, the alpine Tipi offers a laid-back, alfresco setting with indoor and outdoor seating, fire-pits and sweeping views over the Northumberland countryside.
On the menu will be a wide selection of drinks – spritzers, cocktails and mocktails included – along with wood-fired pizzas, live music on Good Friday 3 April and Saturday 4 April, plus, on Easter Sunday 5 April, a modern twist on the classic Sunday roast.
And to help keep younger visitors entertained, The Tempus will also be laying on a family-friendly Easter trail. Parents and children are invited to collect a free trail card from Reception, then solve the different clues around grounds on a self-guided adventure to crack the secret code word and receive an Easter egg.
‘Luxury overnight stay, laid-back lunch or quick ‘sip and a seat’ by The Tipi – whatever you’re looking for this Easter weekend, The Tempus is ready and waiting. Bring the family, bring the dog or just bring yourself, everyone’s welcome,’ said Meenaghan.
