Quorum Park which has linked up with Metrisk, a creative sales promotion consultancy and service provider who moved to the Longbenton site last year, to encourage tenants to hand in their hard-to-recycle food packaging waste and be rewarded for it.
The Scan2Recycle scheme, which is already in use by high street retailer Boots, is being rolled out in a move that sees collection bins set up at various locations around the park. Tenants can be rewarded for disposing of their hard-to-recycle packaging by signing up for a Quorum Scan2Recycle account, saving images of their packaging and then depositing their crisp packets, sweet wrappers, plastic cups and trays at a dedicated recycle point and confirming the deposit by scanning the unique QR code. This then links to their personal account and the chance to win online shopping vouchers.
Scan2Recycle, which is powered by bespoke mobile phone technology developed by Metrisk to encourage consumers to recycle more packaging waste, is being trialled by Quorum Park from mid-May to mid-August. It’s then expected that the scheme will be adopted on a more permanent basis.

People will be able to recycle most of their waste packaging knowing that they are contributing to both protecting the environment while being rewarded for their efforts.”

Quorum Park offices meet the requirements of a post lockdown returning workforce with space that can be adapted as technology evolves, working patterns change and personnel come and go.
