The Inn Collection Group has been embracing its position as one of the UK’s most dog-friendly pub groups this autumn by getting behind Northumberland Dog Rescue with a pair of special fundraising initiatives.
Stocking a specially-created ale at 10 venues throughout October and creating a limited edition 2025 calendar, the aim is to raise £15,000 for the charity, which works to rehome dogs from Berwick upon Tweed to Newcastle upon Tyne.
Brewed in conjunction with Alnwick Brewery, Scooby Brew has been on tap across Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham and North Yorkshire throughout October and has been generating a 50p donation for every pint sold.
A 3.9% tropical pale ale, Scooby Brew is also gluten-free, making it the perfect refreshment to enjoy in a cosy inn and help dogs in need find their forever homes.
The value of 50p from every pint has been made possible thanks to the sterling efforts of the brewery, which has pulled out every stop to produce the beer as cost effectively as possible.
More than 2,000 pints had been sold as Portfolio North closed for press, raising the first £1,000 of the target.

Following Scooby Brew in November, Pups at the Pub is a special calendar featuring 12 high-quality images of the cutest canine companions visiting the dog-friendly pubs where they fit right “inn”.
Beautifully captured by Mark Wilson of Northern Boy Photography, the calendars are being produced free of charge thanks to the incredible generosity of Northern Print Solutions.
Priced at £10 per calendar, 100% of the proceeds raised by the sale of the calendars will be donated to Northumberland Dog Rescue, allowing them to continue supporting dogs in need across the region.
Scooby Brew and the calendar are the result of extensive planning and organising across The Inn Collection Group, but with the teams at The Lindisfarne Inn and The Bamburgh Castle Inn providing the main driving force.
General manager at The Lindisfarne Inn, Amelia Dunn, said: “There is a strong relationship between Northumberland Dog Rescue and The Inn Collection Group and we’re excited to be doing something a bit special in support.
“There have been a number of donations made in the last few years through The Amble Inn and The Bamburgh Castle Inn and the Give Inn Back initiative, but this year we wanted to take that a step further.

“As a pub-with-rooms company, we thought a special fundraising beer made perfect sense and thanks to our excellent relationship with Alnwick Brewery, we’ve made that happen.
“And with the time of year coming up when everyone needs a new calendar, we thought teaming up with our friend Mark at Northern Boy would let us show off some of our best friends and our beautiful pubs at the same time.
“If our customers join us and enjoy Scooby Brew and choose our calendar for the year ahead, we’re going to be able to make a real difference to what is a lovely, local rescue charity.
