A Toast to Taste: The Orchard at Grantley Hall x Moët & Chandon
Grantley Hall may be a relatively new addition to Yorkshire’s luxury landscape, but in just a few short years it has made a major impression on the region’s dining scene.

Grantley Hall may be a relatively new addition to Yorkshire’s luxury landscape, but in just a few short years it has made a major impression on the region’s dining scene.

Known for its blend of fine food, elegant surroundings, and faultless service, it has quickly become a destination in its own right. Now, with its new partnership with Moët & Chandon, The Orchard offers an even more elevated experience that brings together great cooking, beautifully crafted drinks, and a relaxed sense of celebration.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear we were in for something special. The terrace and indoor-outdoor space glowed softly under amber lighting, with subtle touches of gold that nodded to the Moët collaboration without feeling overdone. The atmosphere struck exactly the right balance between a place to mark an occasion and one where you can simply unwind in style.

The Meal

Rather than a casual graze-and-go concept, the evening followed a classic structure of starters, mains, and desserts, each one thoughtfully designed and confidently executed.

We began with a trio of appetisers that set the tone beautifully. Warm bread with aged balsamic and extra virgin olive oil made a simple yet inviting start. The fish cakes were crisp on the outside, moist and delicately seasoned within. The arancini, filled with three cheeses and served with tomato and chilli jam, offered richness and depth without overwhelming the palate. These early dishes showed the same care and precision that carried through the entire meal.

For mains, the lobster risotto was a clear standout. Creamy and indulgent, it featured generous pieces of lobster, perfectly cooked rice, and a saffron and bisque base that deepened the flavour without overpowering it. The steak, cooked exactly to order and served with seasoned fries and watercress, was another highlight, letting the quality of the meat shine with quiet confidence.

Desserts brought warmth and familiarity, each with a refined edge. The apple crumble combined nostalgia and sophistication with spiced fruit beneath a golden topping, paired with vanilla ice cream and Calvados custard. The crème brûlée was everything it should be, with a crisp caramelised surface giving way to smooth vanilla custard. Both were comforting, elegant, and deeply satisfying.

Drinks That Sparkle

The Orchard’s cocktail list feels perfectly matched to its partnership with Moët & Chandon, offering drinks that are both creative and perfectly in tune with the season.

The Harvest Moon blended Hennessy, Cocchi Americano, pear, and maple syrup, topped with Moët & Chandon Brut. The pear and maple gave gentle autumnal notes before the Champagne added its signature lift.

The Frosé Cinnamon Grove, made with Belvedere vodka, apple juice, cinnamon, lemon, and Moët & Chandon Brut, delivered crisp apple freshness with a whisper of spice. These cocktails felt more than just Champagne with a twist; they were carefully composed, stylish, and full of personality.

The Atmosphere

One of the real strengths of the evening was how effortlessly everything worked together. The service was attentive yet unintrusive, with staff who clearly knew the menu but never broke the relaxed rhythm of the evening.

The Orchard’s interior captures a kind of easy luxury that feels both polished and welcoming. Whether you are celebrating a milestone or simply indulging in a night out, it is the sort of place that makes you feel instantly comfortable.

The partnership between Grantley Hall and Moët & Chandon succeeds because it celebrates luxury without pretension. Every element, from the food to the drinks to the décor, feels considered and cohesive.

If you are looking for a destination that offers exceptional food, imaginative cocktails, and an atmosphere that feels indulgent yet unforced, The Orchard at Grantley Hall delivers. It is an evening that feels special without trying too hard, and that quiet confidence is what makes it truly memorable.
