An award-winning North East housebuilder is celebrating a stellar 2025 amid ongoing demand for homes in the region.
Homes by Carlton has seen a 65 per cent rise in house sales compared to 2024, driven by “significant” interest in the company’s latest developments.
The final homes at two major developments, The Langtons in Redmarshall and Eastfields in Whitton, were sold this year.
Additionally, plots at the company’s flagship 198-home Middleton Waters development in Middleton St George – as well as both Beauford Park in Witton Gilbert and Woodberry Park in the picturesque village of Staindrop – sold well.
At Woodberry Park, over a quarter of all homes have already been sold or reserved, despite the showhome only opening in November.
That wave of interest helped Homes by Carlton secure an impressive £11 million in sales during 2025 – a figure that’s soared by 29 per cent compared to the previous 12 months – and the company believes 2026 is already shaping up as one of its biggest years yet.
“Heading into 2026, our forward order book is already exceeding £5 million, so we are hopeful that next year could be among our best yet,” said Norman Peterson, Co-Founder and Chairman of Homes by Carlton.
And it’s not only the County Durham-based company’s bottom line that is growing.
This year, Homes by Carlton’s team has been boosted with 10 new hires, including six management appointments.
They include Elliot Martindale, who joined as Head of Technical, while Dan Holyoak took on the vital role of Head of Construction.
“These are two crucial appointments, and both have significant experience and knowledge within this industry, making them perfect fits to grow our company further,” added Norman.
“They really strengthen our already incredible team and have helped to put us into a fantastic position as a business ahead of the new year.”
Emma Worth, Development Manager, added: “In addition to our ongoing developments, our Saxon Vale site in Sadberge is due to come to the market early next year and we have an exciting pipeline – which we continue to add to through strategic land acquisition – that has us on track to deliver on our £100 million commitment to build beautiful new homes in the North East.”
