Portfolio North is celebrating its most recent milestone, having announced multiple new appointments and an expansion from the North East into Yorkshire.
Anna Robinson, David Harker, Wayne Halton, Geoff Moore, Terry Laybourne, Sean Evans and Jason Taylor have all joined the Portfolio North team in recent months, as the publication grows into Yorkshire and increases its offering, including its upcoming app launch and events.
Since its first edition in 2017, Portfolio North has distributed 24 editions to over 35,000 readers per print issue and generated 49million online impressions from April 2022 – April 2023 across its digital platforms.
Reflecting on the success and growth of the publication, editor and co-owner Cassie Moyse added: “Since 2017, we have worked hard to develop our offering and engage a targeted readership of aspirational professionals in the North East with a credible and engaging publication.
“I am so pleased that Anna, David, Wayne, Geoff, Terry, Sean, and Jason have all joined the Portfolio North team, and it is a great reflection of how we’re growing at pace. Their expertise in their individual fields support our mission to create the best business and lifestyle content for our readers.
“Our growth across both print and digital platforms throughout 2023 has been incredible so far. I look forward to continuing growing the magazine, readership and welcoming new clients across the North, as we launch our Yorkshire arm, mobile news-app and even more events.”
Renowned and celebrated restaurateur Terry Laybourne will work with the team to supply recipes and insights from his popular 21 chain of restaurants for print editions and online content for Portfolio North.
Terry has worked in the North East for over 35 years, and is a popular figure in the dining scene in Newcastle. His restaurant group includes 21, The Broad Chare and the recently reopened St Vincent, on Newcastle’s Quayside.
Anna joined the team after graduating from the University of Birmingham with a degree in English with Drama. As Content & Marketing Executive, she co-ordinates digital marketing strategies and creates a variety of content for the digital and print versions of Portfolio.
With the increase in networking events Portfolio North is hosting across the region, Anna also oversees events at venues across the North East.
Following the popularity of Portfolio North’s exclusive Wine Club, David Harker has been appointed as contributing wine editor. His role as owner and operator of Newcastle Wine School, his knowledge of the local and international wine industry along with a vast education in wine will ensure the publication is able to produce high-quality, educational and entertaining content on wine.
Experienced Journalist, PR expert and business owner Wayne Halton joins as contributing business editor. He will oversee various regular business interviews including ‘The Big Business Interview’ – an exclusive monthly feature in each print edition with the region’s most inspiring business leaders. Wayne’s ‘What Makes Me Tick’ column will explore the inspiration and motivation behind the North
East and Yorkshire’s most driven business-people, and will be ran online weekly, as well as the quick-fire ‘Ask The Entrepreneur’ column.
West Nautical Director, Geoff Moore, has also joined Portfolio North as Contributing Travel Editor, providing insights into luxury travel for print readers in the North East and Yorkshire.
Following a career in the Merchant Navy, Geoff joined the superyacht industry in 2007, before starting his own luxury yacht company based in Newcastle upon Tyne which has become an international market leader in nautical services; including curating luxury holidays to the world’s finest destinations.
Lead photographer Sean Evans will support Portfolio North in creating a unique photography style for business interviews, networking events and upcoming projects.
Rounding off the new appointments is Jason Taylor, who will act as head of client relationships for Portfolio North in Yorkshire.
As Portfolio seeks to expands into Yorkshire with a new edition due this Autumn, Jason will work to create connections with clients and host networking events across the region.
Portfolio North’s Yorkshire arm will release six editions annually, with daily content shared online and across its social media platforms.
