Newcastle High School for Girls (NHSG) is excited to announce that it has been named as a finalist for the esteemed Debrett’s Education Award for Outstanding Pastoral Care, a national award celebrating excellence in pupil wellbeing and support.
The only finalist in the North of England, this honour places NHSG among a distinguished group of just five schools who are being recognised for going above and beyond in creating nurturing, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
Commenting on the news, Mrs Amanda Hardie (Head), said: “We are delighted to be a finalist for the Debrett’s Education Award for Outstanding Pastoral Care, a category within the prestigious Muddy Stilettos National School Awards 2025. This is a powerful affirmation of the excellent pastoral care we deliver every day, supporting our girls in Junior and Senior School to flourish.
“We are incredibly proud of our pastoral programme which, built on our school’s expertise in girls’ education, gives all our pupils the confidence to aim high, to develop their voice and to become the very best version of themselves.”
NHSG has already achieved significant recognition in the past year including the TES Independent Senior School of the Year Awards and The Independent School of the Year Awards for Best Prep School and Best Marketing Approach.
Amanda Hardie added: “The recognition we have received is testament to the hard work and commitment of our amazing staff team, who go above and beyond every day to ensure that we are delivering a modern, future-facing education for girls like no other.”
The final winners of the Debrett’s Education Award will be announced on 1st July 2025.
