GT3 Architects has announced the promotion of Neil Hardy to director, marking a significant step in the practice’s evolution as it celebrates 10 years in business, expands to four UK studios, and continues to go from strength to strength.

Neil becomes the first Chartered Architectural Technologist to be appointed to the director group at GT3, recognising his instrumental role in driving technical quality and regulatory excellence across the practice.

Known both within GT3 and across the wider industry for his deep knowledge, commitment and collaborative approach, Neil has played a key part in shaping the practice’s delivery standards and project outcomes. His promotion comes as GT3 continues to grow its 65-strong team and builds on a successful year of strategic expansion, including the opening of its Belfast studio and the continued development of studios in Newcastle, Nottingham and London.

“Neil’s promotion is a brilliant example of what career progression at GT3 can look like,” said Simon Dunstan, director and co-founder. “Anyone who has worked with Neil will know the depth of knowledge, dedication and calm authority he brings to every project. His work ethic, passion and focus on delivering technical expertise have made a real impact on the business, and this promotion is well deserved. We’re proud to have him as part of our senior team and excited to see how he continues to help shape the practice moving forward.”

Neil joined GT3 with a strong track record across multiple sectors, bringing experience of varied building types before specialising in wet and dry leisure facilities. Since then, he has played a pivotal role in some of the practice’s most technically complex projects, helping to ensure that innovation is delivered with robustness, compliance and clarity. He also co-leads GT3’s Technical and Building Information Modelling (BIM) group and plays an active role in both the Quality Management System (QMS) and Sport & Leisure teams.

“It’s a real privilege to step into this role. At the time of joining, GT3 were a relatively new and ambitious practice offering the opportunity to contribute and help shape the business. In that time and during many challenges facing the construction industry, we’ve shown resilience and commitment whilst achieving sustainable growth. Becoming the first director of a technical discipline reflects our culture, valuing the skills that Technologists bring to the process which is a really positive message. I’m looking forward to continuing to support the team and build on our successes – it’s an exciting time to be part of GT3,”says Neil Hardy, director at GT3 Architects.

Neil’s promotion reinforces GT3’s commitment to recognising and celebrating talent across all disciplines – and to building a leadership team that reflects the diverse skills and voices that shape the practice every day.
