The Green Energy Advice Bureau (GEAB) has found additional success, following the announcement of a collaboration with a North East food manufacturer.
The partnership, which will see GEAB’s monitoring system drive annual savings and a reduction in carbon emissions for the food industry, highlights a significant step in sustainability practices.
Based in Newcastle, GEAB’s sustainability journey focuses on utilising a forward-thinking approach to energy consumption.
Together with a local food manufacturer, GEAB recognised the impact of energy costs on both the environment and the bottom line. With the guidance of GEAB’s skilled Sustainability Department, an advanced energy monitoring system was introduced. The system is capable of tracking energy usage across the manufacturer’s production facilities, identifying hidden inefficiencies and revealing pathways for optimisation.
Through a shared commitment to the environment and data-drive insights, the manufacturer made operational adjustments that led to an impressive 15% reduction in energy consumption. This then translated into an annual cost savings of £43,000.
Beyond the immediate economic impact, this joint effort yielded a substantial reduction in carbon emissions. By aligning their operations with energy-efficient practices, the partners demonstrated a shared commitment to mitigating their environmental impact—a pursuit that takes on even greater significance in today’s climate-conscious landscape.
Elsewhere within GEAB, the team are championing a novel approach to harnessing solar energy by investing in Capital-Expenditure-Free Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems. This solution allows businesses to capitalise on solar power without the upfront costs of installations.
GEAB has partnered with renewable energy providers to install solar PV systems which transform rooftops into generators of clean, renewable energy. This approach not only reduces reliance on non-renewable sources but also provides consistent, cost-effective energy solutions, effectively aligning environmental stewardship with prudent fiscal management.
Paul Cobb, managing director of The Green Energy Advice Bureaus, said ‘’GEAB’s commitment to delivering sustainability solutions to its new and existing clients offers a blueprint for a future where responsible practices and economic growth are not at odds, but rather partners in progress. With each energy-efficient measure and solar panel deployed, GEAB paves the way for a community of local businesses ready to embark on a similar journey. It’s not just about cost savings, it’s about embracing a mindset that values both the planet and profitability.’’
