Four North East firms were announced as winners in Deloitte’s UK’s Best Managed Companies 2025, at an awards ceremony at the McLaren Technology Centre.
The UK’s Best Managed Companies programme shines a spotlight on private businesses from across the UK and the exceptional performance that drives them. The programme is an initiative of Deloitte Private.
The North East companies selected are: Banks Group (real estate), JT Dove (consumer), The Inn Collection Group (hospitality) and Esh Group (construction). The North East is the best represented region on this year’s list, with two London companies and two entries from Scotland also included.
This is the inaugural edition of the UK’s Best Managed Companies awards, with the programme already established in over 45 geographies across the world. It recognises top private companies for their organisational success and contributions to their industry and the economy.
Claire Evans, the UK’s Best Managed Companies leader at Deloitte, said: “Private businesses play a vital role in our economy. They lead the way on purpose, innovation, creating employment and importantly, in driving nationwide growth and prosperity. This is what has underpinned our motivation in launching this global awards programme in the UK, bringing private businesses together to recognise their excellence and success.”
Matt Henderson, Deloitte Private UK’s managing partner who is based in the Yorkshire and North East region, said: “The firms included on the list demonstrated robust management and governance as well as a clearly defined culture and values. We had several strong entries in the North East, and four companies from the region made the grade, underlining the exceptional local talent we have.”
