Leading Northern property firm, Bradley Hall, is celebrating after a successful start to 2024 in the Sunderland commercial property market.
The firm, which has an office on Fredrick Street in Sunderland’s city centre, has completed 36 commercial property deals since the beginning of the year, with 18 of those totalling over 58,600 sq. ft. of commercial space in the heart of Sunderland city centre. Since the start of 2024, figures for sales and lettings facilitated by Bradley Hall have totalled over £2.6million, offering a huge injection into the city centre’s economy.
The sites, which range from high street retail and industrial spaces to offices, leisure venues, workshops and development opportunities, have been sold or let to local property developers, and regional and national businesses looking for new headquarters and branches.
Michael McGhin, Commercial Agency Surveyor at Bradley Hall Sunderland, commented on the flurry of deals completed by the firm: “Sunderland city centre is growing from strength to strength with the development of the Riverside developments and the emerging attraction of Keel Square.
“The city centre is now attracting national and independent retailers that would have once avoided Sunderland as a potential place of business.
“We are pleased to be able to support new and existing clients to source the appropriate commercial property for their business’ needs and we are thrilled that so many new clients are reaching out to us as our presence in the area expands.”
Bradley Hall’s Sunderland branch was opened in 2017 and has quickly become a leading property firm in the city. The appointment of Director Helen Wall in 2021 boosted the firm’s presence by working in collaboration with Sunderland Business Improvement District (BID) and Sunderland City Council to provide expert advice on the property market in the city.
Helen Wall, Director of Bradley Hall Sunderland, said: “The number of deals we have completed for clients in the first six months of 2024 is staggering and is a testament to the team’s hard work.
“Sunderland is a rapidly expanding city that offers a lot of potential for businesses looking for new workspaces. We have worked with lots of fantastic clients this year who are keen to support the growth of the city and see the potential Sunderland and the North East has for businesses looking to progress.”
The team recently facilitated the leases of all four hospitality units at Keel Square, part of Sunderland’s Riverside regeneration. The sites, which have been let to The Botanist, Keel Tavern, The Muddler and Flower Café, are set to significantly boost the city’s economy as locals and visitors visit the sites before a trip to Sunderland Empire or the upcoming Customs House.
Another key letting for the team was office space for local law firm Mortons, who moved their headquarters into modern office space at The Yard, owned by Northern developer The Hanro Group. Stafford Accountants also moved into office space in the same building, with both businesses occupying space over 2,800 sq. ft.
Bradley Hall offers a full-service approach to property across the North East and Yorkshire. With offices in Sunderland, Durham, Newcastle, Tees Valley, Gosforth, Morpeth, Alnwick and Leeds, the firm is a key player in the region and often works with Local Authorities, Councils and regional and national housebuilders to facilitates sales and lettings of commercial and residential properties.
