Newcastle based business, Grainger, owner of a key city centre apartment building is set to welcome a new restaurant tenant, with the help of local property agents, Bradley Hall.

The Forge, a housing development by Grainger plc, the UK’S largest listed residential landlord, located on Forth Banks close to Newcastle’s Quayside, is set to welcome Sanco, an authentic Neapolitan pizza restaurant, as its first occupier of the newly renovated space.

Sanco, which is due to open in late Spring, will bring a new concept to Newcastle’s dining space, with a focus on quality and eliminating menus, a theory that is designed to reduce food waste.

Bradley Wallace, Commercial Asset Manager at Grainger, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Sanco to The Forge and look forward to seeing the impact the restaurant will have on the local community. At Grainger we’re not just building homes, we’re creating communities and we are confident that this unique offering will be a welcome addition to the local area.”

Lucy Mouter, Commercial Agency Surveyor at full-service property firm, Bradley Hall, brokered the letting of the commercial space to Sanco.

Lucy commented on the deal: “I am pleased to have facilitated the lease of this city centre site for my client, Grainger, and look forward to Sanco opening their brand new restaurant in the space.

“Sanco is in a prime location close to the Quayside, which has seen development in recent years to become the go-to place for dining and nightlife for many of Newcastle’s residents and visitors.

“Hospitality is integral to Newcastle’s tourist market, with £5.4 billion contributed to our region’s economy and I wish Paolo and the team all the best as they embark on their new journey.”

The ground floor unit totals 2,901 sq ft of space and will see a full fit out to create an authentic, Italian dining experience for guests.

With an adjacent car park and just half a mile from Central Station and the Metro, the site is ideally located for customers, and visitors to Newcastle staying in the nearby Copthorne, Crowne Plaza or Travelodge.

Paolo Franchi, Owner of Sanco, commented on the lease for their new site: “I am thrilled to have secured such a prime location for Sanco with the assistance of Lucy and Bradley. After over a year in planning, it really is incredible to see my dream come to life at last and I can’t wait to finally open the doors in the coming months. Creating jobs in both an industry and city so close to my heart and allowing me to bring my heritage into the mix, really is something I feel so fortunate to have been able to do. Sanco really is a unique venue and concept, bringing the true, authentic, Neapolitan Pizza to Newcastle…with a twist! We really can’t wait to welcome you all!
