The appearance of an angel has heralded Christmas in Bowness on Windermere this year, as The Inn Collection Group throws open the doors early to its newly refurbished The Angel Inn.

Undergoing renovations since October, the Helm Road is property has seen updates to bedrooms within the main grade 2 listed building and the adjacent gatehouse, along with a revamp to the look and feel of the ground floor spaces.

There has also been works to the grounds of the site adding to the grassed terrace areas to the front of the main building, creating further outdoor space to enjoy.

Led by Newcastle-based Design North and The Inn Collection Group’s projects team, the works have created an elegant venue at the heart of the village.

Working to a brief to create a cosy, classic country inn aimed at families and walkers, The Angel Inn is set to be enjoyed by visitors and locals alike and provide a suitable draw.

Opening first for food and drinks from December 23, the first staying guests will be welcomed to the property on December 27 with strong early demand for rooms at the new-look establishment.

The Angel Inn is the first of several Lake District properties owned by The Inn Collection Group that will be reopening in the coming months, with works currently progressing on Ambleside properties The Wateredge Inn and The Waterhead Inn along with Grasmere’s The Swan.

Celebrating The Angel Inn’s re-opening, operations manager Paul Brown said: “Angels and Christmas are natural bedfellows so it’s nice that we are back to welcoming guests in the build up to the big day this year.

“We’re looking forward to opening and welcoming drinkers and diners in for a pre-Christmas treat and then to welcoming guests from December 27. We have strong occupancy for the first few days that we are open to guests, so it is great to see that the reopening is keenly awaited.

“We have created a wonderful bar and restaurant that people are going to seek out and enjoy and that is going to be further enhanced when the weather improves, and people can enjoy the great outdoor spaces.

“The works have refreshed all the bedrooms across the three buildings into the group’s style, and we know people are going to be delighted with them when they stay with us.”

With 32 brand new rooms ready to enjoy, The Angel Inn is the perfect spot in which to enjoy one of The Inn Collection Group’s Winter Breaks getaways.

Offering dinner, bed and breakfast stays at the new look venue start from just £59.50 per person based on two people sharing.
