Director of Portfolio North, Cassie Moyse, shares her final Editors Notes following the appointment of Editor Jessica Laing.
My last editors notes. No, I’m not going anywhere – but instead welcoming a new member of the team to take care of the incredibly important editorial in Portfolio North.
I am delighted to welcome Jessica Laing as editor of Portfolio North’s North East and Yorkshire editions. Jessica is an experienced editor and writer and has already created some fantastic interviews with our clients.
This appointment and expansion in the team will allow us to grow, continue providing a great service to our growing client base and concentrate on producing the best content for our readers to enjoy. Having more writers on the team will also allow us to create more independent content, interesting and insightful articles and reporting on various business and lifestyle news across the North East and Yorkshire.
Our priority is to deliver engaging, honest and educational content, be a credible news source for local news from the North East and Yorkshire within their respective publications. We create content which is readable, relevant and reliable – and bring personality to business news. Our lifestyle features should be aspirational but achievable for our readership of professional people. Importantly, we want to work with brands and organisations which align with our reader’s and our core values
Having a person within the business who concentrates on strategizing, creating and delivering quality and exclusive articles will allow us to attract even more of the right readers, maintain and grow our integrity and provide the foundations of our business. After all, first and foremost, we are a news publication.
Our growth allows me to concentrate on client partnerships, our business strategy and developing our various services. We provide opportunities for businesses to grow their presence via the magazine, editorial writing services, contract publishing, inserts, digital coverage, provide a platform for PR on our website, have created a news app which has a tonne of opportunity on the horizon, events, wine tasting dinners and more.
