A sold-out Newcastle summit built to put the region’s overlooked talent in the spotlight is returning for 2027, after a packed debut brought founders, leaders and ambitious professionals together to tackle what organisers call the North East’s visibility gap.

The first Get Known Summit took place at the Crowne Plaza Newcastle on Thursday 4th June, filling the room with business owners and professionals for a day focused on getting seen, heard and known for the work they do. Created by Newcastle PR agency Moja as part of its The Get Known Club, the event set out to address a pattern its organisers see across the region, where talented people do great work but go unnoticed simply because they are not visible enough.

The day brought together six speakers across brand strategy, networking, storytelling, mindset, personal style and media, with Lisa Johnson, Jeni Smith, Sophie Jane Lee, Helenlee Wilkinson, Frankie James and David Gleghorn each sharing practical insight on what it really takes to build a profile that gets results.

Sessions were balanced with time for delegates to make connections, and organisers say attendees left with a clear plan for raising their profile and a stronger sense of what they want to be known for.

Sophie Milliken MBE, CEO of Moja and founder of the Get Known Club, said the response had gone beyond anything the team had hoped for.

“There is no shortage of talent in business, but there is a shortage of visibility, and that is exactly what we set out to change. To see a sold-out room of ambitious people, all there to learn how to show up and be recognised, told us just how much this event was needed. We always believed there was an appetite for an event like this in the North East, and the response has been beyond anything we hoped for, so we are already planning 2027.”

The summit was backed by headline partner Sage, alongside sponsors Ward Hadaway, Inspired HR, Weir Insurance Brokers and Ideas Fest, whose support helped bring the event to life.

Marketing Lead at Sage, Melissa Beckett said “At Sage, we’re passionate about helping small businesses not just succeed, but stand out. Time and again, we see that incredible talent and solutions to problems can go unnoticed without the confidence, network, platform and visibility to match it.

The Get Known Summit brings that to life in a really powerful way – giving founders and professionals practical tools to build their profile, tell their story and unlock new opportunities for growth.

There’s so much ambition and potential across the North East, and we’re proud to support events like this that champion and surface those amazing businesses and Entrepreneurs’’

With the first summit sold out and complete, Super Early Bird tickets for 2027 are already on sale at the lowest price the event will ever offer, available for a limited time only, with the next Get Known Summit set to take place on Thursday 22nd April 2027.
