On Tuesday 2nd September, NE1 is launching a tasty new initiative, NE1’s Lunch Club, to offer city centre diners fixed-price lunchtime menus for £7.50 or £10 per person at a host of participating venues across Newcastle every Tuesday.

More than thirty of the city’s most popular lunchtime haunts have already signed up to take part in the new, weekly event designed to provide extra midweek support to the restaurant industry all year round. Among the early adopters are some of the city’s most popular and beloved venues, including The Muddler, Kaltur and Twenty Twenty.

NE1’s Lunch Club model is a play on the highly popular and widely imitated NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week event, which has been running since 2011, and operates on a fixed price-point basis. NE1 is once again galvanising the restaurant community to collaborate on an event with a straightforward, unified aim: to offer an easy-to-implement promotion across participating venues, supported by a targeted PR and advertising campaign. Originally, Newcastle Restaurant Week was created to bolster the restaurant industry during traditionally quieter periods of the year, and it has transformed the two weeks it is held into two of the busiest periods, increasing diner numbers enormously and providing an economic boost to businesses of over £2.2 million annually.

The Lunch Club is aiming for the same results, providing much-needed support to the hospitality industry during a period identified as the quietest, and offering diners a fantastic, affordable, and standardised experience at some of the city’s favourite venues.

Rachel Fenwick, Head of Marketing and Events at NE1, said: “We are so excited to be launching NE1’s Lunch Club in Newcastle. This initiative is about inspiring diners, making lunchtime exciting across the city, and supporting our brilliant local food scene.”

“Starting this September, lunch in the city centre is set to become a big event and more accessible than ever. Workers, residents, and visitors can all enjoy some of the finest lunch venues the city has to offer, all at a fixed price, every Tuesday.

“Whether you’re revisiting a lunchtime favourite or discovering a new one, The Lunch Club will give you an ideal excuse to meet friends and loved ones, or simply get out of the office with work colleagues to enjoy a lunchtime catch-up.

“Dining on a budget will make it easier to set spending limits whilst enjoying fantastic value and fabulous venues. With two fixed-price options available, you can choose a menu that suits your taste and budget and doesn’t break the bank. Now all you need to do is choose where to try first!

Details on participating venues and their menus will be available later this month, giving diners plenty of time to arrange their Lunch Club visit. Be sure to keep an eye on www.getintonewcastle.co.uk
