Cassie has been in the PR and Marketing industry for almost 15 years, working for agencies and in-house. She set up Portfolio North as a client project in 2017, and has since grown the magazine into a stand-alone business and two bi-monthly print publications as well as daily news shared digitally via its website, app, e-newsletters and social media platforms. Its content is shared and created to celebrate the businesses and the people behind them from across the North East and Yorkshire.
Outside of work, Cassie has a pet cockapoo named Baxter, enjoys Yoga and Pilates as well as the occasional spa day. Her favourite holiday so far has been to Lake Como, Italy, and she enjoys rose and red wines. Her proudest achievement is (accidentally) climbing the difficult route of Helvellyn and her secret talent is acrylic painting.
Jessica has over a decade of experience in journalism, publishing, content management, copywriting and PR. During her career, she has worked for several publishing houses and luxury brands in the North East and has led and edited some of the region’s most established business and lifestyle publications.
When she’s not making magazines, Jessica enjoys yoga and cooking, as well as walking, paddleboarding and cold water swimming at the coast, where she lives. While she feels most at home by the sea, her ideal holiday is a snowy winter getaway in the mountains (preferably during the festive season – her favourite time of the year). She loves listening to 80s music, visiting spas and trying new wellness treatments. Her secret talent is singing, her tipple of choice is a margarita and if sleeping was an Olympic sport, she’d be a gold medallist.
Charlotte joined the Portfolio North team with a wealth of experience in social media management and content creation. In her new role, she’s responsible for managing Portfolio North’s social media platforms, as well as creating unique digital content across all channels.
Outside of work, Charlotte is a real foodie who loves to find the best hidden gems around the North East and Yorkshire. Spending lots of her time at the beach with her dog (and with an expertly brewed coffee in hand), Charlotte loves getting into the outdoors, whether it be dipping into the North Sea or walking in the Northumberland countryside.
Anna joined Portfolio North in February of 2023, having completed a degree in English with Drama at the University of Birmingham. Anna’s role involves writing independent articles for the print and digital versions of Portfolio North, creating bi-weekly e-newsletters and organising events at venues across the North East and Yorkshire.
Anna is currently undertaking an MA in Publishing at Manchester Metropolitan University while working part-time at Portfolio North, and was the Membership Secretary of the Society of Young Publishers for two years. Outside of this, she enjoys canals, museums, walks with her dog Ailbe, volunteering at Brownies and reading lots and lots of books.
