AJ Bell has partnered with North East-based digital product studio hedgehog lab to develop their latest investing app, Dodl which launched in April 2022. This user-friendly investment app aims to help people gain confidence with their long-term investing, regardless of investment experience.
AJ Bell is one of the UK’s largest investment platforms, trusted by 432,000 people to look after £68.7 billion of investments.
hedgehog lab designed and built the new mobile apps for iOS and Android on Flutter, an innovative new open-source technology by Google for creating mobile, desktop, and web apps with a single codebase.

Following a testing period, Dodl was launched to a waitlist of about 5,000 people. It offers an Individual Savings Account (ISA), Lifetime ISA, Pension and General Investment Account while customers are able to set up monthly investments and consolidate existing ISAs and Pensions onto the app.
Investing needn’t be scary according to Dodl’s friendly monster characters who guide people through the app as they start their investment journey.
