September 5th 2022 marks a new start at Emmersons Solicitors (52 John Street Sunderland and 137a Back High Street Gosforth) when our improved conveyancing offering is released.
During the lockdowns and the Stamp Duty holiday we were inundated with work. This put us at or indeed beyond capacity. Financial institutions and the Land Registry working from home created delays. The service we could offer clients suffered.
We recognised that we had to control case numbers more carefully so we could offer the service levels clients expect. For the past 10 weeks or so we have not taken on new work.
Yet we also have to maintain an appropriate income stream.
The solution we have reached is to ensure we employ people who have the experience and depth of knowledge to deal with the legal issues effectively (so we have employed new staff) and to revise our fee structure.
There is a national shortage of experienced conveyancers. Conveyancing is not just a process. It requires attention to detail and an extensive knowledge of property law. We have the team in place to provide expert advice in clear terms and to progress transactions within appropriate timescales.
Our bespoke service will once again place clients at the centre of what we do.
Michael Marshall commented: “It’s been a very testing few years throughout the conveyancing sector. I joined Emmersons because I am passionate about assuring clients of the service that they expect. The Directors told me their vision for an improved service offering and I was excited to get onboard with it. Together we have shaped the offering. Now I can’t wait to get going on 5 September.”
