A stellar line-up of supporters includes Gateshead College, Marelli, Newcastle University, Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK), Invest South Tyneside, North East Institute of Technology (NEIoT) and Sunderland City Council as awards sponsors, Smart Manufacturing Solutions and SMS Tech as drinks reception sponsor and Horizon Works as brochure sponsor.

Paul Butler, CEO, North East Automotive Alliance, said: “The awards present an excellent opportunity for companies and individuals to be publicly recognised and rewarded for their achievements.

“The evening is a key calendar event for the whole of the industry as is evidenced by the huge number of exceptional entrants that are put forward and the desire and willingness of key stakeholders to sponsor and support the occasion.

“As in previous years, donations will be awarded to schools and school engagement programmes to help raise awareness of the importance of STEM and the attractiveness of a career within the automotive sector. It is testimony to the generosity and forward-thinking of all those connected to the NEAA that, to date, over £47,000 has gone towards supporting our future talent.”

Cllr Tracey Dixon, Leader of South Tyneside Council, said: “Invest South Tyneside is very pleased and proud to once again be supporting the North East Automotive Alliance Awards.  With many of our residents employed across the automotive sector, we are delighted to sponsor the Employer of the Year Award. It is very important to recognise and acknowledge the companies that are creating a stimulating and supportive work environment, offering real opportunities for staff to develop, grow and fulfil their career potential within the industry.”
