Therapists at the Spa at Ramside at Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa, Carrville, Durham, have undergone an intensive further training course designed in conjunction with the international organisation, Wellness for Cancer.
Their new qualification, certified by WFC, helps cancer patients by offering three types of tailor-made treatments: a Be Nurtured massage, a Be Nurtured facial experience plus a Be Nurtured back, face and scalp therapy that eases discomfort.
This is not a one-off for the staff; the spa is a pioneer in the field as it was the first spa in Britain to team up with Wellness For Cancer as far back as 2015 to offer specially designed therapy treatments for people living with the illness.
The close liaison between WFC – which offers training within the spa industry to work with people affected by the condition – and Spa at Ramside means it is the only spa in the region to offer customised therapy treatments.
Ramside Spa Director, Victoria Walker said she is extremely proud of the spa’s ongoing links with WFC “It’s one of our most important achievements. We’ve come a long way together – since the early days of 2015 – on a major mutual learning curve on how we can benefit people living with cancer.
“Our staff have worked really hard to add further training in this area and we’re honoured to be able to support our clients on their health journey. It’s deeply satisfying for us to be able to help.”
The WFC treatments start at £95 for 55 minutes.
