The Wensleydale Creamery, based in Hawes in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, is celebrating a new listing in the UK’s largest supermarket chain, Tesco.
Wensleydale Blue, a beautifully mellow and creamy blue cheese, is being welcomed onto shelves in more than 500 Tesco stores nationwide.
The listing will join its popular branded Yorkshire Wensleydale and Yorkshire Wensleydale & Cranberries, on Tesco shelves and double the cheesemaker’s production of its award-winning Wensleydale Blue, which is handcrafted in Hawes using local milk.
Tesco is the first retailer to showcase the new branding for Wensleydale Blue. Featuring a bold and striking new design, the labels are printed on craft paper with gold foil text to enhance the premium, artisan feel, whilst still being true to the brand’s heritage and provenance.
Charlotte Gramlick, Speciality Cheese and Grab and Go Cheese Buying Manager at Tesco, commented: “We’re delighted to now be able to offer our customers Wensleydale Blue in over 500 of our stores across the country and be the first to showcase their new branding.
“Our customers deserve the best quality products available on the market, and Wensleydale Blue brings them just that. The quality and provenance are second to none and we’re excited for our customers to be able to get their hands on the new Wensleydale Blue packs when they next visit our stores.”
Sandra Bell, Marketing Manager at Wensleydale Creamery, added: “Extending our range with the launch of Wensleydale Blue in Tesco is testament to the quality of our handcrafted cheese which we know our loyal customers love. As the UK’s largest retailer, it’s brilliant to see our Wensleydale Blue on its shelves, making it available for everyone to enjoy.”
Wensleydale Blue 140g prepack is now available online and in-store.
