A SENIOR solicitor with years of experience in the field of serious injury has taken up a new role at a fast-growing Newcastle law firm.
Mick Laffey has joined Burnetts at Dean Street as Legal Director in the serious injuries department, specialising in cases where people have suffered catastrophic injuries.
Mick is well known in legal circles for his expertise and knowledge in his chosen field, one of the reasons he was asked to join Burnetts’ expanding serious injury team.
He is a former chair of the Newcastle Trainee Solicitors’ Group and for 15 years has been a senior litigator for APIL – the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
Mick has built a reputation over the years for his work in numerous serious injury cases, fighting for clients who have suffered brain, spinal or amputation injuries.
It is this track record that brought him to Burnetts.
“I wasn’t really looking for a new job but I was so impressed with how professional and friendly the company is and how it operates at such a high level that I knew I wanted to be part of it,” he said.
“This is a great opportunity and I am really looking forward to being part of such a fast-growing department.”
“We are delighted to have someone with Mick’s experience join our team,” said Spencer Knaggs, Head of Medical Negligence and Serious Injury at Burnetts. “He has had a hugely successful career to date and is the perfect fit for our extremely busy serious injury department.”
Along with its office in Newcastle, Burnetts also has offices in Carlisle, Hexham and Cockermouth.
The company operates across a whole host of sectors including both business and personal. Further information is available at www.burnetts.co.uk
