Azets, the UK Top 10 accountancy firm, has promoted Russell Turner to Regional Managing Director, and Chris Ward, Jackie Senior and Richard Whitelock to Partner.

In addition, 21 staff have been promoted to support the growth of the region, including Chris Woodroffe and Angela Mikola who have been promoted to Director and Jimmy Durham to Associate Director. All will continue to work as part of Azets’ regional office network.

Russell Turner has been promoted to Regional Managing Director for the North East and Yorkshire. Russell will focus on driving the integration and growth of the business in the regions, and form part of Azets’ leadership team. Russell has been a trusted advisor to SME businesses in Yorkshire for over 30 years.  He specialises in delivering strategic and financial advice to clients focused on growing their businesses, improving profitability and managing succession and exit matters.

Working in Accountancy and Business Advisory Services, Chris Ward jointly oversees the team in York and provides advice and support to family and owner managed businesses across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on engineering, property and farming. He has been with the firm for over 20 years and has over 30 years experience in the profession.

With over 25 years’ experience, Jackie Senior has a wealth of knowledge in book-keeping, management accounts and financial accounts, with a particular focus on cloud accounting.  Jackie will continue to jointly oversee the Accounts and Business Advisory Services team and support businesses with streamlining online processes that deliver meaningful financial information and provide clarity on the impact of business decisions.

Richard Whitelock leads the region’s Employer Solutions team and helps SME businesses navigate increasingly complex employment taxes legislation, challenges in attracting and retaining key staff, and the shifting landscape of working habits. His specialist areas include collaborating with business owners on tax efficient cash extraction planning, and supporting businesses in areas such as benefits and expenses, salary exchange and staff rewards, as well as employment status and HMRC compliance matters.

Russell Turner, Regional Managing Director of Azets commented: “We are at an exciting time in the growth of Azets, and I’m looking forward to leading the team so that together we can deliver our strategic goals and continue to build on the company’s ongoing success.

“Huge congratulations go to everyone that has been promoted, especially to Chris, Jackie, Richard, Chris, Angela and Jimmy, who I know will continue to offer both clients and their teams the very best of their knowledge and skills, against the continually challenging backdrop of the economic landscape.”
